CAMP Gen. Miguel Malvar, Batangas — A drug surrenderer was shot dead while another was in critical condition after being shot by unidentified suspects in San Juan town, Provincial police PIO chief Senior Insp. Kerwin Amor Umali Cabrales said last Saturday.
A report to Batangas police director Senior Supt. Edwin A. Quilates by San Juan police head Chief Insp. Rosell DM. Encarnacion identified the two victims as Mario del Carmen Sinapilo and Darrel Guinno Geron.
Encarnacion said Sinapilo was on his way home onboard a motorcycle at 7:30 p.m. at Bgy. Calicanto when shot several times by an unidentified suspect, who was hiding in wild bushy area.
The victim was hit in different parts of the body and was brought by local residents to the hospital where he was declared dead on arrival by attending physician Dr. Elmer Reyes.
The suspect hurriedly fled to the forested area.
At around 7:20 p.m., police reported another shooting incident transpired in Bgy. Calubcub 1st.
Encarnacion said Geron and his teammates were watching basketball when an unidentified suspect suddenly appeared from nowhere and shot him.
The suspect fled on foot after the incident while the victim was rushed to San Juan District Hospital.
