CABANATUAN City — Two suspected drug pushers were killed in separate operations in Nueva Ecija on Wednesday night.
In Gabaldon, Senior Insp. Sandy Bautista, town police chief, identified the slain suspect as Jerico Hizon, alias Ekong, of Bgy. Bantug Norte, Cabanatuan City.
During the buy-bust conducted in Bgy. Bantug at 8 p.m., the police poseur-buyer was about to hand over to him the marked money when he sensed that the former was a police operative, so the suspect suddenly pulled out a gun from his waist and fired at the lawman but missed, triggering a gunfight which resulted in his instantaneous death.
Seeing this, Hizon’s other cohort, who was riding in an unidentified motorcycle, immediately fled towards this city.
Bautista said probers recovered a plastic sachet containing shabu from the suspect’s possession.
In Cuyapo, Supt. Renato Morales said the unidentified slain drug suspect ignored a police checkpoint put up by his men in Bgy. District 6 at 9 p.m.
Morales said his counter-riding-in-tandem operatives chased down the fleeing suspect until he was cornered in the vicinity of Bgy. Bentigan where he immediately fired at the pursuing lawmen, forcing authorities to return fire which led to the suspect’s death.
Recovered from the suspect were four plastic sachets with shabu and a cal. .38 revolver with two fired bullets and four misfired and two fired cartridges for cal. 9mm.
