GAPAN CITY — Three men, alleged to be drug pushers, including an Sangguniang Kabataan leader in San Miguel, Bulacan, were killed when they fought off anti-narcotics operatives in separate buy-bust operations that resulted into armed encounters in this city last Friday.
City police head Supt. Peter B. Madria identified those killed as Aljon Ramos, 22, alias Kalbo, and his companion AC Escubido, 21, single, both of San Miguel, Bulacan; and Dante Salvacion, of San Isidro, Nueva Ecija.
Ramos was a former drug surrenderer in the police’s Oplan Tokhang program while Escubido was said to be an SK chairman in their barangay.
Madria said both their fathers – Alex Ramos, 52, and Jaime Escubido, 48, both of Sitio Tabing Ilog, Bgy. Sta. Lucia, San Miguel, Bulacan, went to the Dariz Funeral Parlor in Bgy. San Roque and positively identified their sons’ bodies.
Then they later faced Madria and admitted that indeed it was the bodies of their sons.
Madria said the encounter erupted after conducting a buy-bust operation against Ramos in Bgy. Malimba at 4:30 a.m. Friday.
He said Ramos sensed he was dealing with undercover operatives and fired his gun at the lawmen, who retaliated hitting the suspect and Escubido that resulted in their instantaneous deaths.
Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) led by Chief Insp. Ma. Elvira Bautista with the presence of City Prosecutor Rodrigo Santos and Bgy. Chairman Alex Alejandria recovered from the encounter site a Cal. 22 revolver with two cartridges and three fired cartridge cases, a black Suzuki motorcycle, a one thousand peso bill used as marked money, five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing shabu, two glass pipes with suspected dried marijuana fruiting tops and eight fired cartridges cases for Cal. 9mm pistol.
