The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 11 (PDEA 11) has formally filed a case against a drug suspect in Tagum City, Davao del Norte who was wounded during its anti-illegal operations on Saturday.
Charged before the Tagum City prosecutor’s office on Monday is one Olikay Magdara Sabdulah for violation of section 26 of Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 after conspiring with the drug suspect Tominaman Candao who was killed during the operation.
PDEA reports bared that Sabdulah who was with Candao during a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Miguel drew his gun and fired at a PDEA when he learned he was transacting with a lawman.
Candao sold a big pack of methamphetamine hydrochloride commonly known as “shabu” worth P120,000 to the operative who acted as poseur buyer then he resisted the arrest and bumped one of the vehicles of the operatives and pulled his .380 pistol, and an exchange of gunfire took place which resulted to his death.
In the crime scene, a big pack of shabu with an estimated value of P1.615 million was also seized during the anti-drug operation.
Suspects were rushed to the nearest hospital but Candao was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
