MANILA, Philippines — Another police officer alleged to be involved in the illegal drug trade and two other suspects were killed in separate incidents in Agusan del Norte, Pampanga and Cavite on Monday.
Police Officer 1 Ric Lyndon Cena of the Remedios T. Romualdez police pulled out his gun when he sensed he had sold shabu to undercover agents in Purok 9, Barangay Tolosa, Cabadbaran at around 2 a.m., according to a report of the Caraga police.
Senior Inspector Venus Cale, Caraga police information officer, said Cena was among five police officers who refused to undergo a drug test and was included in President Duterte’s narco list.
Fifteen sachets of shabu weighing three grams with an estimated street value of P35,400 were recovered from the fatality, police said.
In Pampanga, “high-value” suspect Manuel Dingle allegedly fired at police officers during an anti-drug operation in Barangay San Agustin, San Fernando.
Seven sachets of shabu, two sachets of dried marijuana leaves, drug paraphernalia, marked money and an improvised caliber .38 revolver were reportedly recovered from the fatality.
Roland Francisco, who also had a pending robbery case, allegedly engaged police officers serving a warrant of arrest at his residence in Barangay Poblacion 3, Calatagan, Batangas.
Meanwhile, probers have yet to determine if the killing of Alvin Sison and Edgar Barela, who were shot by unidentified men who entered their house in Barangay Paliparan and San Francisco 1, respectively, in Dasmariñas, Cavite, were drug-related. – Raymund Catindig, Ed Amoroso
