CAMP GEN. GARCIA, Cavite — Two suspected drug pushers were killed by police when they resisted arrest in drug buy-bust operations earlier this weekend in Kawit town and neighboring Cavite City.
A total 16 other drug suspects were also arrested by police in anti-drug operations in the last since Friday.
Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) reports identified the fatalities as Alex Tolentino Toquero, a bus dispatcher and resident of Barangay Marulas, Kawit; and Jonel Avenir Sueno, jobless, of Barangay 48-A, Cavite City.
Both Toquero and Sueno died on-the-spot when they traded shots with anti-narcotics operatives after a deal with police undercover agents in Kawit and Cavite City, respectively, on late Friday night and pre-dawn Saturday.
Recovered from Toquero were a 38-caliber revolver with three bullet casings in its barrel, nine small sachets containing “shabu,” drug paraphernalia, and P480 cash.
Sueno, on the other hand, yielded a .22-cal. homemade revolver and two small sachets of “shabu.”
PPO reports said that 16 drug suspects were also arrested on Friday and Saturday by police teams in operations in the cities of Bacoor, Dasmariñas, and General Trias and the municipalities of Tanza and upland Alfonso and Magallanes.
