A SUSPECTED drug personality was killed while his live-in partner was injured when unidentified assailants fired shots inside their home Monday evening.

Police identified the fatality as Erwin Sumalinog, from Sitio Bangkal, Barangay Ibabao, Cordova, Cebu.

Sumalinog’s 17-year-old live-in partner was also hit but survived. She was brought to a public hospital.

Police Officer 1 Joselito Andales said Sumalinog and his partner were inside their house in Cordova, when men on a motorcycle fired shots at them.

Sumalinog succumbed to gunshot wounds in the head and other parts of his body.

Andales said investigators are looking into Sumalinog’s involvement in illegal drug trade as possible motive behind the murder. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
