Anti-narcotics operatives were about to arrest Epifanio Alicando around 6 p.m. after he sold shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer when he resisted and fired at the law enforcers in Barangay Danao.

The police officers returned fire, hitting Alicando, who died on the spot.

Recovered were a caliber .45 pistol and five sachets of suspected shabu worth P20,000.

Alicando was on the illegal drugs watch list in the Bicol region.
