Woman shot dead in Malabon

A woman office employee on her way to work was shot dead by still unidentified man in Malabon City Saturday morning.

Maribeth Villa, 32, married, an employee in a computer accessories company in Manila, a resident of Barangay Tonsuya in Malabon, succumbed to a lone gunshot wound on her back. She was declared dead on arrival at the Ospital ng Malabon.

Police said that Villa was walking along Block 1 Damata in Barangay Tonsuya, on her way to Manila when a lone gunman shot her around 8:30 a.m.

A witness described the gunman as of medium built, around 5’5 in height, wearing black T-shirt, denim pants and black cap.

Recovered from the scene was an empty shell of a still unknown caliber.

Meanwhile, police are still clueless as to the possible motive behind the killing, saying Villa had no known enemy. and was also not included in the barangay drug watch list. (Kate Louise Javier)

Woman admits drug trade involvement

A woman who was reportedly included in the drug watch list was arrested in Caloocan City Saturday afternoon.

Elements of the city’s drug enforcement team led by Sr. Inspector Allan Hernandez conducted a buy-bust operation against 33-year-old Sonia Juntilla, jobless, of Libis Baesa in Barangay 160.

Hernandez said they conducted a against Juntilla after concerned citizens reported her illegal activities.

Juntilla was also listed as pusher in the barangay drug watch list, said case investigator P01 lester Alpecho.

Around 12:30 p.m., the team arrested Juntilla in front of her house after she handed over a sachet of shabu worth P500 to a police poseur-buyer.

Juntilla admitted her involvement in illegal drug trade, police said.

Appropriate charges will be filed against Juntilla who is now detained at the Caloocan police. (Kate Louise Javier)

​Drug buyers shot

Two people were shot dead by a still unidentified gunman past midnight Sunday at New Lower Bicutan, Taguig City.

The victims were identified by Taguig Police as Sheryl Ceron, and Vicente Delas Alas Jr. both residents of Almanza Ville, Las Piñas City.

Ceron died on the spot after she suffered a lone gunshot wound on the head, while Delas Alas Jr. who was also hit in the head was rushed to the Taguig Pateros District hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Investigation showed that the incident occurred around 12:15 a.m. while the victims were walking along Road 4 corner Maguindanao St. Barangay New Lower Bicutan in Taguig.

Police said that the unidentified gunman suddenly shot the two.

According to the initial inquiry by the Taguig City Police, the victims were buyers of illegal drugs in the area. (Dhel Nazario)
