The Homicide Section identified two of the victims as Reno Egos, 27, who lived in Barangay Looc in LapuLapu; and Orbel Inihao, 29, who lived in Barangay Marigondon.

The Lapu-Lapu City Police Office-Homicide Section was looking at the possibility that the three persons killed in Barangay Mactan last Thursday night were hitmen after four guns were found in their possession.

Police Insp. Wilfredo Rodriguez, chief of the Homicide Section, said the motive of the killing was either one of the victims’ involvement in illegal drugs or they were gunned down by their fellow hitmen.

The Homicide Section identified the victims as Reno Egos, 27, who lived in Barangay Looc in LapuLapu; and Orbel Inihao, 29, who lived in Barangay Marigondon.

As of yesterday morning, LCPO had not yet identified the other victim.

In a report from GMA 7’s Balitang Bisdak, the other fatality was identified as Zaldy Dungog, 32, a resident of Barangay Canjulao in Lapu-Lapu.

Egos, Inihao and Dungog were on a motorcycle when unidentified gunmen shot them.

Inihao drove the motorcycle while Egos was behind him, and then Dungog.

When the victims reached Sitio Dumpsite-Soong Center, Rodriguez said, four persons on two motorcycles peppered the victims with bullets at 7:40 p.m.

The victims were no longer responsive when the medical team arrived.

Authorities found 21 empty shells fired from a .45 pistol and 21 empty shells from a .9mm pistol in the crime scene.

According to Rodriguez, Egos was recently released from the Lapu-Lapu City Jail after he posted bail for cases of illegal drugs and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

“Basin gibirahan sa drugas kay nag-ilog sa teritoryo. Di nato ikalimod basin pahilumon as hitmen. Naa may armas malagmit hitmen (It could be a fight over drugs territory. They could have been silenced as hitmen. They had firearms, they could be hitmen),” said Rodriguez.

A .45 pistol and a .9mm pistol were recovered from Egos, while a .357 revolver was found each from the two other victims. All of the victim’s guns were loaded.

Rodriguez said the firearms and ammunition will be sent to the PNP Crime Laboratory 7 for cross matching to determine if these had been used in other killings in Lapu-Lapu.
