GENERAL SANTOS CITY — A drug pusher on a watchlist was killed while a police officer was wounded in a joint police anti-drug operation in a village here on Monday afternoon.

Chief Insp. Patrich Elma, chief of the City Police Drug Enforcement Unit, said Tuesday suspect Raymund Alisin alias “Dongkoy,” 35, was slain in a brief firefight at around 4:50 p.m. in Purok 6 in Barangay Labangal.

He said they initially conducted an entrapment against the suspect and was able to buy a sachet of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu worth PHP500.

He said Alisin drew a caliber .38 revolver after noticing that he was transacting with police operatives.

“He fired at the operating team so they were forced to retaliate and hit him in the process,” Elma said.

The suspect was rushed to the city hospital but was declared dead upon arrival by attending doctors.

Recovered from Alisin’s possession were four plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, PHP500 marked bill used in the buy-bust, and a caliber .38 revolver.

The police official said a member of the operating team identified as PO2 Eduard Elma was hit on the leg during the encounter.

He sustained a minor wound and is now in stable condition.

Elma said Alisin was considered as among the top drug pushers in his village.

He added that they are closely monitoring several other suspected drug personalities in the area, including the alleged cohorts of the slain suspect. (PNA)
