THREE persons, including a man in President Rodrigo Duterte’s “narco-list,” were killed in a buy-bust operation in General Santos City, police said.
Killed were Rahimen Mariano Bisaya alias “Rah,” and his cohorts Bernie Aguhar and Abdul Hakem Udas, said Chief Supt. Eliseo Rasco, Central Mindanao regional police director.
Bisaya is included in the president’s narco-list and categorized as a “level 1 high-value target,” and is also believed to be a member of a robbery/hold-up group operating in Polomolok, South Cotabato, Rasco said in a report Monday night.
Members of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit and other police units carried out the operation against Bisaya around 12 p.m. Monday, along the Diversion Road in Brgy. Katangawan.
A police poseur-buyer managed to purchase one sachet of suspected shabu from the Bisaya, so other operatives moved in to arrest him, Rasco said.
However, Bisaya ang his cohorts tried to escape aboard a mini “Saddam” truck so the policemen gave chase and caught up.
“The policemen asked them to get out of their vehicle but the suspects refused and instantly f i red their firearms, prompted the the police to retaliate,” Rasco said.
The suspects were wounded in the short firefight that ensued and were brought to the nearest hospital, but were declared dead by doctors, he said.
Operatives recovered from the scene of encounter a caliber-.45 pistol, caliber-.38 revolver, an Uzi 9mm Garand, several rounds of ammunition and empty c a rtidriges, personal belongings, nine sachets of suspected shabu, a lighter, and the P1,000 buy-bust money.
