On November 22, yet another victim of summary execution was found at Delpan Bridge, Tondo, Manila. His face was covered in packaging tape, while a cardboard sign left beside his body wrote “drug pusher ako, huwag tularan.” (“I am a drug pusher, do not tolerate me.”) Minutes into the crime scene, his family arrived to identify him as Rene Desierto.
The victim’s wife, Ivy Desierto watches in horror as the coroners stripped her husband’s face off the packaging tape which covered him.
Rene is survived by his wife, and his three-year old son.
Rene Desierto was last seen alive on the night of November 20. He was abducted by six still-unidentified men on motorcycles at Zaragosa Street, Delpan, Manila.
Family and friends frantically searched for him at police precincts and morgues.
It was two days later when he was found lifeless at Delpan Bridge.
