Bruno said the companions of the fatalities escaped.

Five other suspects were arrested in Pandi, Obando and Hagonoy towns over the weekend. They reportedly yielded 14 sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia and marked money.

P4-M cocaine washed ashore
In Eastern Samar, four bricks of cocaine with an estimated value of P4 million were recovered by a worker at a beach resort in Barangay Sulangan, Guiuan on Wednesday, according to a police report.

Jerome Balbuena, 30, alerted police when he saw the plastic-wrapped cocaine bricks along the shore at around 11:30 a.m., Senior Inspector Wilder Dadia, Guiuan acting police chief, said yesterday.

In January 2010, around 300 bricks of cocaine also washed ashore in Eastern Samar.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) recently created a task force in the province to prevent the entry of smuggled items, including illegal drugs.

PDEA chief Aaron Aquino expressed suspicion about the presence of an underwater storage for cocaine and shabu.
