Two suspected illegal drugs personalities were killed while nine others were apprehended in various anti-narcotics operations on Thursday in Bulacan province, police said Friday.
Bulacan police director Sr. Supt. Chito Bersaluna identified the slain suspects as Jomari Reyes, a resident of Pulilan town, and Julius Siriban, 38, of Meycauayan City.
Bersaluna said in a statement that the two shot it out with authorities when they sensed they were poseur buyers.
After the armed encounter, the Pulilan police found a coin purse containing plastic sachet with suspected dried marijuana leaves, a P500-bill marked money, and a candy box containing four plastic sachets with suspected “shabu” from Reyes’ possession.
They also recovered from the crime scene three fired cartridge cases for caliber .9mm, one Magnum cal. 22 revolver without serial number loaded with two ammunitions, and three fired cartridge cases. They also seized Reyes’ motorcycle.
The Meycauayan Police, meanwhile, recovered five plastic sachets containing suspected “shabu,” five fired cartridge cases for cal. 9mm, one caliber .38 revolver loaded with four ammunitions and two fired cartridge cases, and a black sling bag containing wallet and assorted document after the shootout with Siriban.
Separate buy-bust operations by police operatives from San Rafael and Pandi towns and San Jose del Monte City resulted in the apprehension of nine suspects.
They yielded 30 plastic sachets containing suspected “shabu” and the buy-bust money.
The operations fall under the Philippine National Police’ “Project Double Barrel Reloaded” campaign.
