Two suspected illegal drugs peddlers were killed while 20 others were nabbed in various police operations in Bulacan on Wednesday, authorities said Thursday.
Sr. Supt. Chito Bersaluna, chief of the Bulacan police, identified the slain suspects as Jhon Carlo Maglanque, also known as Chukoy, from Baliwag town, and a certain ‘Alias Jun.’
Both were neutralized after resisting arrest and fighting it out with authorities in separate buy-bust operations by the Baliwag Police and the Santa Maria Police, Bersaluna said.
Recovered from the scene of operation against Maglanque were a caliber .22 revolver (with marking Black Widow without a serial number, loaded with three pieces caliber .22 live ammunitions), four pieces of caliber 9mm fired cartridge cases, two pieces of caliber .22 fired cartridge cases, four pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected as “shabu,”, one coin purse, and one P500 bill.
“Alias Jun,” for his part, was gunned down after attempting to shoot a Santa Maria policeman who served as poseur buyer with a caliber .38 gun, Bersaluna said.
Meanwhile, other buy-bust operations conducted by police in Bustos, Calumpit, Hagonoy, Meycauayan, San Ildefonso, San Rafel, Plaridel and Santa Maria resulted in the arrest of 20 men and women.
Confiscated from them were 37 pieces of plastic sachets containing suspected “shabu,” assorted drug paraphernalia, and buy-bust money.
The pieces of evidence are subjected to examination at the Bulacan Provincial Crime Laboratory Office, while charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 are being prepared against the apprehended suspects.
The police continues to implement its intensified anti-narcotics campaign, dubbed, “Project Double Barrel Reloaded,” in line with President Rodrigo Duterte’s flagship war on drugs.
