TAGBILARAN CITY – Two drug personalities were killed and 37 suspects were arrested in simultaneous police operations in 29 towns in Boho on Thursday.

More than P1 million worth of suspected drugs were seized during the simultaneous conduct of operations against drug personalities in the province.

Bohol provincial director Senior Supt. Angeles Geñorga told the media the operations were done from 4 to 9 a.m. on Thursday when 36 search warrants were served and 35 of the search warrants came up with positive results.

Geñorga declared the police are winning the war against drugs, at least in Bohol.

The two fatalities were identified as Eddie Vano, of Bicao, Carmen and Joel Vergara Olalo from Anda town, Geñorga said in a press conference held at the police headquarters inside Camp Francisco Dagohoy.

Vano is considered as a high-value target in the regional level. Vano was killed after a brief exchange of gun fire between the suspect and the police operatives.

Olalo was killed after engaging in a fire fight against police operatives, he said.

Geñorga said the places in Bohol where the simultaneous police operations were conducted included Tagbilaran City, Albur, Alicia, Anda, Antequera, Baclayon, Batuan, Bien Unido, Bilar, Buenavista, Calape, Candijay, Carmen, Catigbian, Clarin, Dagohoy, Danao, Dauis, Dimiao, Guindulman, Inabanga, Jagna, Jetafe, Loboc, Loon, Maribojoc, Panglao, Pilar, Carlos P. Garcia, San Miguel, Sierra Bullones, Talibon, Tubigon, Ubay, Corella and Lila towns.

The provincial police chief said the personnel from 22 search warrants were served against alleged violation of the anti-illegal drugs, 13 search warrants were served for illegal possession of firearms, and nine buy-bust operations were conducted during Enhanced Management Police Operations.
