CAMP GEN. PANTALEON GARCIA, IMUS, Cavite –-Three resisting drug suspects were killed on Tuesday afternoon while 26 others were arrested by police in simultaneous operations in Barangays Alima and Sineguelasan, Bacoor City, the Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) reported.

A suspected drug pusher was also killed on Tuesday night in a shootout with police in Barangay Bagtas in Tanza and that three other suspects were arrested in operations also in the town, Dasmarinas City and Silang municipality.

The Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) said that the operation at Tabing-dagat in Alima and Sineguelasan at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday was one of the biggest this year in Cavite province.

Operatives from the Bacoor police station led by Supt. Vicente S. Cabatingan, chief of police, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Cavite and Laguna have swooped down on a row of the so-called “Shabu Tiangge” or Drug Small Market just above the shore water and have arrested 26 suspected drug pushers and users.

The operation turned hostile when some drug suspects opted to fire their guns at the raiding team which forced them to shoot back, killing three of them.

Senior Superintendent William M. Segun, Cavite PPO director, identified the fatalities as Harries Iso, Diowie Concepcion, alias Asiong; and one “Badong.”
Segun said that the three suspects, who died on the spot, were members of the Iso Group with Harries as one of the leaders. The ISO is a group involved in drug pushing and holdup incidents in Bacoor.

The PPO commander said that the team had drug search warrants, including one for Harries, Romeo and Roberto, all surnamed Iso, when they conducted the raid in the areas.

At least 26 other drug suspects were nabbed by the team during the operation.

Bacoor police chief Cabatingan reported that the team was able to seize during the operation several sachets of “shabu” weighing 150 grams and costing about P1,020,000 and two .45 cal. pistols, two .38 cal. revolvers and one .22 cal. revolver from the suspects.

The coastal Alima and Sineguelasan areas are known as the syndicate’s transshipment or drop-off points of shabu in Bacoor. The areas have long been under surveillance by the local police and the PDEA.

Another PPO report showed that a suspected drug pusher was also killed at 8 p.m. Tuesday by police in an encounter after resisting arrest in a buy-bust operation in Bagtas, Tanza.

Chief Inspector Dhefry A. Punzalan, Tanza police chief, identified the suspect as Ibrahim Tamano, alias “Bryan.”

Tamano was declared dead on arrival at General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital where he was brought following the incident.

PPO reports showed that the four latest shootout fatalities brought to seven the total number of drug suspects killed in encounters with police from this month or from Aug. 1 to 7.

From January to July this year, it was reported that there were at least 35 resisting drug suspects killed in shootouts in Cavite province’s upland and lowland districts.
