The two assailants, one armed with a .45-caliber pistol, fled after the attack.
Top police officials said that the motive of the attack has yet to be determined.
In reports released by Senior Superintendent William M. Segun, Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) director, and Superintendent Jose Junar P. Alamo, Imus police officer-in-charge, said that Herrera was among barangay officials in the drug list of President Duterte.
