Shabu found in injured man’s possession
Two sachets of shabu were found in the possession of a man who was injured after he was shot by still unidentified men riding a motorcycle in Caloocan City Monday night.
Police identified the man as Ruben Dalida, 32, of Sarmiento Street, Barangay Sta. Monica, Quezon City.
Dalida was walking along Palmera Spring, Barangay 175, Camarin, Caloocan City, at around 9 p.m. when men riding a motorcycle appeared and shot him.

The gunmen, wearing helmets, then sped off.
According to the police, a red coin purse containing two sachets of shabu, a lighter and two lipsticks were in Dalida’s possession when the rescuers from the Caloocan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) lifted Dalida.
He was rushed to Jose Rodriguez Memorial Hospital where he is still unconscious and currently recuperating.
Investigators said that residents in tha area told them that Dalida was involved in illegal drug activities. (Kate Louise Javier)

‘Sputnik’ man dies
A ‘Sputnik’ gang member was gunned down by unidentified man while he was sleeping in a folding chair in Tondo, Manila early Tuesday morning.
SPO1 Dennis N. Turla, case investigator of Manila Police District- Crimes Against Investigation Section, identified the fatality as Reynaldo Santiago, 37, a resident of Osmeña Street in Tondo.
Police said that Santiago was sleeping in a folding chair along Osmeña Street when the gunman arrived about 3:03 a.m. and peppered him with bullets.
Investigators said that Santiago died on the spot.
According to Turla, it was Reynaldo’s father who discovered the lifeless body of his son in the wee hours of Tuesday. “Sinabi ng tatay niya na si Renato na nakita niyang duguan at may mga tama ng bala ang kanyang anak,” the investigator said.
The police have yet to establish the motive behind the attack. (Analou De Vera)
Butcher gunned down
A butcher died on the spot after he was gunned down by three unidentified men on board two motorcycles in Tondo, Manila early Tuesday morning.
SPO4 Glenzor Vallejo of Manila Police District – Homicide Section identified the fatality as Erwin Llego who last resided at Building 26 Unit 103,Katuparan ,Vitas Tondo,Manila.
Llego died after he sustained two gunshots to the body.
Llego, who had just finished washing his clothes was asked to buy liquor from the nearby store.
At around 2:45 a.m. along Bonifacio corner JP Rizal Streets in Tondo, Llego was approached and shot twice by the three suspects before they sped off.
Police are still investigating the incident since the victim was not under the drug watch list of the barangay.
However, Llego’s aunt claimed that the victim formerly used illegal drugs and had ceased to work as a butcher. (Glendel Nazario)
Chicken stall owner slain
A chicken shop owner was gunned down in front of his stall inside a public market in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.
Investigators of the Quezon City Police District identified the man as Rommel Roque, 27, a chicken shop owner in Commonwealth Market.
Initial investigation showed that Roque was standing in front of his stall near a tricycle terminal at around 1:35 a.m.
While he was drinking his coffee, two men both wearing face masks passed by him and repeatedly shot him in his head and body.
Roque’s older brother, Jamifer, told the police that he was inside the store when the incident happened.
Upon hearing the gunshots, he looked outside and saw his brother slumped on the ground while two men wearing yellow and green shirt casually walked away from the scene.
Prior to the incident, older Roque said that his brother was asking help from him because of threats from his competitors before he open his shop a month ago. (Alexandria Dennise San Juan)
