THREE persons, including a woman, were killed in separate shooting incidents in Taguig and Caloocan cities.
The unidentified female victim was described by police investigators as about 30-35 years old, wearing white T-shirt, pink jogging pants and brown sandals, with gunshot wounds in the body.
Taguig police chief Senior Supt. Alexander Santos said the victim was sitting on a bench in front of a sari-sari store at the corner of Freedom Village and Punzalan Street, Purok 2A, Bgy. New Lower Bicutan at around 11:40 p.m. Sunday when a lone suspect appeared and shot him repeatedly in the body then fled on foot.
Earlier at around 9:30 p.m., Brian Victoria, 31, of East Rembo, Makati City, was walking along Mulawin St., Purok 3, Bgy. New Lower Bicutan, when he was shot repeatedly by unidentified assailants, resulting in his untimely death.
The victim’s brother, Vanessa Victoria, admitted to the police that his brother was once arrested and jailed for his involvement in illegal drugs.
Acting Southern Police District (SPD) director Senior Supt. Eliseo Cruz said investigators are still conducting a follow-up investigation to determine the motive behind the killing and possible identification and arrest of the perpetrators.
In Caloocan City, a tricycle driver was shot dead inside his room by unidentified suspect Sunday night in Caloocan City.
Alquin Canillo, 30, was already asleep in his room at Blk. 1, Lot 57, Phase 4, Tierra Nova Main, Bgy. 171, Bagumbong, when the lone assailant forcibly barged in and shot him in the head and chest at close range, killing him instantly.
The victim’s roommate, Alvin Tanguan, told police that he was watching television when he heard two successive gunshots coming from Camillo’s room which was adjacent to his bedroom at 11:30 p.m.
When he peeped through the hole on his roommate’s room, he saw the lifeless body of the victim lying in bed with visible gunshot wounds in the head and chest, prompting him to seek the assistance of barangay officials who reported the incident to Caloocan Police Community Precinct (PCP) 6.
Elements of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered two empty shells for still unknown caliber of firearm at the crime scene.
Police are still conducting a follow-up investigation to determine the motive behind the killing.
