IN preparation for the renewed operations against illegal drugs, members of the anti-illegal drugs
unit of the Manila Police District (MPD) are to undergo a re-training or workshop.
It was learned that the MPD is in fact coordinating with the Philippine Drug Enforcement
Agency (PDEA) for the said workshop, along with the University of the Philippines Law Center and the
Manila City Prosecutor’s Office, to ensure that all pertinent laws will be observed during the anti-
illegal drugs operations.
The MPD is yet to announce when it will again begin its ‘Oplan Tokhang’.
Meanwhile, three suspected drug pushers were killed when they allegedly shot it out with
operatives of the Manila Police District-Station 2 during a buy-bust operation in Tondo, Manila,
yesterday.
Pronounced dead on arrival at Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center (GABMMC) were
John Rey Mascarado, Arnel Torres and Ryan Paglinawan, all of Pier 2, North Harbor.
Station commander Supt. Santiago Pascual III said the suspects yielded a cal. .45, two cal.
.38, a home-made gun, a hand grenade, 10 sachets of shabu and the marked P500.
