Five suspected drug dealers were killed in alleged shootouts with anti-narcotics agents in Camarines Sur, Cavite, Davao City and Bulacan while a drug surrenderee was shot dead by motorcycleriding men in Ilocos Norte in the past two days.

Ernesto Sta. Ana and Jonald Llames reportedly shot police officers serving a search warrant in Barangay Bagacay, Tinambac, Camarines Sur at around 2:15 a.m. yesterday. The fatalities were also tagged in robberies in the province, police said.

A certain Harold and Junelson Valencia allegedly drew their guns when they sensed they had sold shabu to undercover agents in Barangay Agnaya, Plaridel, Bulacan and Kaong, Silang, Cavite on Thursday, respectively.

Police said Johnny Acogido, 40, shot police officers in Barangay 23-C in Davao City yesterday.

In Ilocos Norte, Jovencio Mora, 53, was driving his motorcycle on his way home when he was shot in Barangay 3 Poblacion, Pasuquin on Thursday.

Chief Inspector Joseph Baltazar, Pasuquin police chief, said the victim surrendered under Oplan Tokhang in 2016.

Starlet held

In Pampanga, former starlet Michelle Comstock, who is also known as Bridgette de Joya, and her boyfriend Marciano Camacam, 42, alias Bong Guevarra, were arrested during a raid on their house in Barangay Calulut, San Fernando also on Thursday.

Chief Superintendent Amador Corpus, Central Luzon police director, said eight sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia and two plastic bottles, which contained liquid chemicals, were among those recovered from the suspects.

In Bacolod City, police said around 85 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P1.02 million were recovered from the house of Myla Velano, the wife of a drug detainee, in Barangay Mandalagan.

P5.1-M marijuana

Meanwhile, around 20,000 marijuana plants and five kilos of marijuana stalks with an estimated street value of P5.1 million were destroyed in Kalinga this week.

In South Cotabato, police officers uprooted 1,712 fully grown marijuana plants allegedly planted by New People’s Army (NPA) guerrillas in Barangay Danlag, Tamapakan town on Thursday.

Barangay officials said armed men seen near the marijuana plantation escaped when they had sensed the arrival of policemen.
