A pastor of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP) in Antipas town in Cotabato was gunned down on August 2, by motorcycle-riding suspects.

A report from the Antipas Municipal Police Station identified the victim as Ernesto Javier Estrella, 51, a resident of Barangay Malatab, Antipas, Cotabato.

Police said Estrella was driving his motorcycle at around 7:15 a.m. towards the Poblacion in Barangay Magsaysay when he was intercepted by two motorcycle-riding assailants.

One of the men fatally shot him in the head.
