A probationer facing drug charges was shot dead in the municipality of Sibulan in Negros Oriental at sundown Wednesday.
A report from the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO) on Thursday identified the victim as Roberto Alejo Silva, 40, married, and a resident of Upper Pancil in Barangay Looc of the said town.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim was returning home after buying a cigarette when three unidentified suspects shot him without provocation.
Silva was out on probation after being previously arrested in Ayungon, Negros Oriental.
