LUCENA City — Another drug personality is now included in the list of dead suspected drug pushers after he engaged policemen in a shootout during a buy-bust operation at Purok Maligaya, Bgy. 5, here, on Sunday.
City police director Supt. Reydante Ariza said Rhoderick Hugo, 44, jobless, of said village, suffered bullet wounds in the body and died instantly during the shootout with his men at around 10 p.m.
Ariza said Hugo is included on the drug watchlist of Lucena Police Station and has been under tight watch by City Drug Enforcement Unit.
After receiving the marked P500 bill from the poseur-buyer in exchange for 0.5 grams of suspected shabu, Ariza said Hugo realized that the former was a cop and he will be collared.
He said Hugo quickly ran away, pulled out a pistol and opened fire, triggering an exchange of gunfire that resulted in his sudden death.
