Police Officer 1 Enrico Domingo died from gunshot wounds to the head and shoulder following a shootout with suspected criminals.

Domingo and two policemen were on an anti-crime operation at the corner of Sen. Gil Puyat and Taft Avenue when an informant told them of a group of men having a pot session in one of the shanties, said Chief Superintendent Tomas Apolinario, Southern Police District director.

He identified one of the suspects as Randy Lizardo, an ex-convict included in the Pasay police’s drug watchlist.

Domingo and PO2 Harley Garcera entered the shanty, where they saw Lizardo’s wife cradling a child. PO1 Tim Santos went to another shanty.

Lizardo and his two companions, who were in another room in the shanty, shot at the lawmen. Santos gave chase but the suspects escaped by running on the roofs of several shanties.

Domingo was pronounced dead on arrival at San Juan de Dios Hospital,  while Garcera who was in the shoulder was reported to be in stable condition at the same hospital.
